First Drive
ZERO DRIVING EXPERIENCE? START HERE…
The State of Colorado requires, among other things, that a student who is under 18 complete 50 hours of driving with a parent or guardian before being able to take their test and get their license.
Some parents may be great drivers, but not so great teachers. For some parents, having the responsibility of teaching their teen to drive from scratch, is overwhelming, or just outside of their comfort zone or ability. Other parents simply butt heads with their teen while trying to teach them.
That’s why our First Drive is so popular.
We will take teens with zero time behind the wheel and spend a couple of hours teaching them the basic mechanics of driving, usually in an empty parking lot – a safe and controlled environment, away from traffic. We will teach them starting, stopping, turning, and generally controlling the vehicle safely and getting it to go exactly where they want it to. After this lesson, they’ll be ready to go out with a parent, and start working on refining these skills over the course of the year that they have their permit.
If you would like your teen to spend more time learning with Altitude, we can add lessons here and there, or even do the whole 50 hours if you prefer.
Our primary service areas:
Douglas County – Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, and Parker.
Arapahoe County – Southeast Aurora, Centennial, Greenwood Village, etc.
Jefferson County – Lakewood, Littleton, and Golden.
Who needs this?
Anyone who has never driven before, whose parents would like some help getting them started the right way.
NOTE: This drive is NOT a state requirement for drivers of any age. It is entirely optional.
